]]> Moseley has named, a principal in the firm’s Charlotte office. Winebrenner joins thewith more than three decades of experience designing public schools and building successful architecture practices across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.

Winebrenner has spent much of his career as a K-12 practice leader. His work has included school projects grounded in community dialogue, along with long-range master planning that balances today’s needs with tomorrow’s flexibility. He has also opened and grown architecture offices, including an education studio that grew from six employees to more than 50 people across three Mid-Atlantic locations.

Winebrenner holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Arts infine artsfrom the College of William & Mary. He is licensed to practice architecture in 15 states and the District of Columbia, holds NCARB certification, and is a LEED Accredited Professional. He is also a Recognized Education Facility Planner through the Association for Learning Environments.

]]> The University of Michigan Board of Regents on Aug. 18 announced C. Cybele Raver, the current Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at Vanderbilt University, as its choice to become the university’s 17th president. Raver’s appointment will take effect Dec. 1.

Raver is a nationally recognized leader in higher education witha strong reputationin developmental social science and university strategy. Since becoming Vanderbilt’s chief academic officer in 2021, she has been instrumental in strengthening all aspects of the university’s research and academic enterprise. Among her many accomplishments, she has advanced Vanderbilt’s research enterprise, with the university surpassing $1 billionin annual research expenditures; recruited eight new deans; launched the College of Connected Computing, the university’s first new college in over 40 years; and expanded Vanderbilt’s academic footprint to New York City, San Francisco, Chattanooga, Tennessee, and West Palm Beach, Florida.

A fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, Raver is also the Cornelius Vanderbilt Professor of Psychology and Human Development at Peabody College, where her research on children’s development, education policy, and poverty has attracted more than $24 million in funding from the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, the MacArthur Foundation and others. Before joining Vanderbilt, she served as deputy provost at New York University and held faculty roles at the University of Chicago and Cornell University. Raver holds a Ph.D. in developmental psychology from Yale University.

]]> The Emory University Board of Trustees announced this week that Christopher L. Augostini, the university’s current Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, has been elected by unanimous vote to serve as Emory’s 22nd president. He will assume his duties on Sept. 1.

“On behalf of the entire Board of Trustees, I want to express our enthusiasm and excitement about the appointment of Chris Augostini as president,” said Robert C. Goddard III, Chair of the Emory University Board of Trustees, in a statement. “Our search generated a significant number of highly qualified candidates, but Chris’s exceptional leadership skills, distinguished record of achievement as executive vice president and COO, along with his deep understanding of Emory’s culture and community, made it clear he is the right leader for Emory,”

Over the past nine years, Augostini has collaborated extensively with the Board of Trustees, the Emory Healthcare Board of Directors, and the university’s executive, academic,administrativeand healthcare leaders to help enable Emory’s long-term growth and competitiveness. In his current roles, he oversees all enterprise functions for Emory, which is one of Georgia’s largest and most complex organizations and one of the nation’s top 25 universities.

The Board of Regents of The Texas A&M University System last week votedunanimously to appoint Susan Ballabina, Ph.D.,as 28th president of Texas A&M University.Ballabina assumedher new role on May 11, building onmore than three decades of service to Texas A&M and the State of Texas.

Ballabinapreviouslyservedas Executive Vice Chancellor of The Texas A&M University System, where she helped lead systemwide operations, advance strategic initiatives and support the work of the A&M System’s universities and agencies across Texas.

Throughout her career,Ballabinahas held senior leadership roles spanning the university and the A&M System, including Chief of Staff to the president, Senior Vice President for Academic and Strategic Collaborations, and Deputy Vice Chancellor and Chief Operating Officer for Texas A&M AgriLife. Her work has included strengthening statewide programs, building partnerships, supporting research and educational initiatives, and coordinating large-scale efforts such as the Healthy South Texas initiative and the disaster recovery following Hurricane Harvey.
