K-12 education planner and designer Taryn Kinney, AIA, LEED AP, joined DLR Group to lead the firm鈥檚 Texas K-12 Education practice in Houston. She will be responsible for growing the firm鈥檚 presence in Texas, working with K-12 education clients and communities to elevate educational opportunities for all students. Kinney is a Texas native who has successfully led the strategy, visioning, planning and design of more than 2 million square feet of learning space nationally and internationally. During Kinney鈥檚 15 years of developing facilities to support new educational models, she has seen her clients face increasingly complex challenges. She incorporates current developmental research, environmental psychology and organizational psychology to design facilities that respond to human learning and behavior.
