JBA Consulting Engineers Inc., an international architectural, construction and engineering consulting agency, announces Vic Sibilla as the firm’s new director for the Orange County office. As director, Sibilla will manage operations while also providing strategic advisory services for the hospitality, health care, aviation, theatrical, residential, educational, mixed-use and office market sectors.
Turner Construction Co. chose Andy Tandon to represent the firm’s interiors division as manager. Tandon is expected to lead the division by delivering consistent, timely and cost-effective construction management and general contracting services to local clients. Since joining Turner in 1996, Tandon has been a key member of the operations staff. A Houston native, he has a history of working on large and small Houston-area projects, including extensive tenant finish work.
Legat & Kingscott LLC recently chose Paul Garland to represent the company as its overall firm manager. In his new position, Garland is responsible for client service, quality documentation, staffing and office performance. He will lead day-to-day operations, ensuring that profitability levels are maintained and improved by working directly with clients to oversee the efforts of architectural teams and support staff.
Amy Yurko, AIA, is the recipient of the 2011 Planner of the Year award, the highest and most distinguished individual honor conferred by the Council of Educational Facility Planners International. The Planner of the Year award is presented annually to the individual whose professional facility planning activities have produced a positive and significant regional, national and/or international impact on educational facility planning.
After serving more than 30 years in education as the Director of Technology at Scott County Schools, Mike Lay, a recent winner of the 2011 Outstanding Alumni Award, recently joined PCS Inc. where he serves as the Education Sales Consultant.
McCarthy Building Companies Inc. recently hired Sara Hill as director of business development for the firm’s Southern California Division. In her new position, Hill is responsible for maintaining and growing McCarthy’s business in the education sector of grades K through 12, higher education, commercial, government, and parking structure markets.
Perkins Eastman recently announced that Matthew J. Cotton, AIA has joined the firm’s Boston, MA office as a principal. Cotton comes to Perkins with more than 25 years of design and management experience in healthcare, with an emphasis on academic medical center master planning. Prior to Perkins, he worked at HOK, where he led the St. Louis Regional Healthcare project and established the healthcare practice’s development in India.
Everett-based construction firm BOND welcomes industry veteran Denise Marien to the company as Director of Client Development. In her new position, Marien will be responsible for implementing a strategic business development plan for the firm. Marien will work closely with the senior management team, including newly hired BOND Vice President Frank Hayes to ensure the firm reaches its long-term goals.
