Bill Pearson, now the new senior project manager, recently joined general contractor and construction manager Charles Perry Partners Inc. A 17-year construction veteran, Pearson has managed several projects including K-12 schools, university and healthcare buildings throughout Florida, as well as Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Texas. He formerly served as project manager for Trinity Fabricators since 2007 and was previously the vice president of M.M.


Colm McGlynn joined Lydig’s large projects group. With more than 25 years of industry experience, McGlynn has built schools in the private education market including Seattle University Law School, University Prep and O’Dea High School. He recently retired from the Board of Directors at O’Dea High School after serving for 10 years.
McCarthy Building Companies Inc. has named Rick Tavelli the director of client services for the McCarthy division base in Albuquerque. With nearly four decades of experience in the construction industry in New Mexico, Tavelli has worked on various projects including schools, office buildings, as well as medical facilities.
Lisa C. Sachs, a managing principal at San Diego-based Cumming Construction Management, Inc., was recently inducted into the AIA’s College of Fellows. Sachs, a licensed architect and long-time active member of the AIA, was on hand to be recognized in person in Washington D.C. Sachs is also a certified construction manager and LEED green associate.
Appointed to vice president and Cincinnati region leader, Nick Apanius will lead Messer Construction’s health care division, managing and providing guidance to a multi-functional team to drive research and development for the company’s construction services. He is a University of Cincinnati graduate and began his career with Messer in 1999. Apanius served as a senior project manager before being promoted to project executive and then health care executive.
Dennis Araujo, DBIA, LEED BD+C, has joined Contegra Construction Company as vice president. Araujo will seek to help the company expand its book of business in its core markets: commercial, educational, industrial, health care and office/warehouse. He will focus on the firm’s operations throughout Missouri and Illinois. Araujo is known for his expertise in design/build project delivery and health care construction. Prior to joining Contegra, Araujo worked for St.
Gafcon Inc., a San Diego-based construction management and consulting firm, recently hired Paul Najar as vice president and general counsel. In his new position Najar will build and maintain the legal infrastructure of Gafcon and its sister company, SharePoint360.
Nancy Hamilton, S.E., P.E., has joined HOK as the new director of engineering services. Based in Chicago, Hamilton leads the company’s mechanical, electrical and plumbing, and structural engineering group. She brings to HOK 24 years of experience, including leadership roles with Arup.
Messer Construction promotes Steve Eder as vice president of the company. In his new role, Eder will provide leadership for Cincinnati project operations and performance. A University of Cincinnati graduate, Eder joined Messer in 1979. His work over the years includes projects for Cincinnati Financial Corporation, Dearborn County Hospital, University Hospital, and Xavier University.
McCarthy Building Companies Inc. promoted Steve Poulin to project director for the education services business unit of the firm’s Southwest division. In this new position, Poulin will oversee K-12 projects in Arizona and foster collaboration with the owner, design team and subcontractors; serve as a liaison between the office and field team; champion job-site safety efforts and proactively manage project budgets and schedules.
