Construction Begins on University of Findlay Business School

FINDLAY, Ohio — The new Center for Student Life and College of Business at the University of Findlay will marry academic space with recreational space in an effort to engage students on both an educational and personal level.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the new $23 million building was held on March 31 near the construction site, marking the beginning of the 17-month construction project. Columbus, Ohio-based M+A Architects is serving as the architect on the project.

Biola University Breaks Ground on New Science Building

LA MIRADA, Calif. — Construction broke ground on the new 91,000-square-foot Alton and Lydia Lim Center for Science, Technology and Health at Biola University in La Mirada on March 22. The $45 million, three-story building will serve as a teaching, research and laboratory facility for the university’s School of Science Technology and Health.

Pasadena, Calif.-headquartered C.W. Driver is serving as the construction manager on the project, which is tentatively scheduled for completion in fall 2017. Gensler, with offices in Los Angeles, is the architect.

Gov. Malloy Stops Funding for Under-Budget Sandy Hook Project

NEWTOWN, Conn. — Construction on the new Sandy Hook Elementary is on schedule and about $2.3 million under the project’s original $50 million budget. As such, Gov. Dannel Malloy decided to include the savings in a plan for more than $350 million in bond payment cuts — even though the project won’t be officially completed for three to four months.
