KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) is in the process of requesting $75 million from state officials towards a new seven-story building at its Kansas City campus. SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California Governor Jerry Brown recently released a funding plan for the state’s K-12 educational system that would increase funding throughout the state.
The state provides compulsory instruction and support services to approximately six million students, grades K-12 in more than 10,000 schools, according to the recent report.
LOMA LINDA, Calif. — The implementation of an $800 million, 10-year capital improvement program at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California kicked off in October with the groundbreaking for a $17.1 million parking structure.
The seven-level garage is the first phase of the improvement plan, which will help the medical center “maintain seismic compliance with the state of California per Senate Bill 1953 and all associated subsequent [bills],” said Robert Cole, owner’s construction superintendent at Loma Linda University.
