As part of an Onyx Series fire alarm system, the unit combines four sensing elements for smoke, carbon monoxide, light or flame, and heat to quickly and unequivocally verify a true fire or CO emergency, according to the company. Separate signals for CO and smoke allow for Onyx systems to respond appropriately based on the event type.
Johnson Controls has increased the capacity of its York model YVAA air-cooled variable-speed chiller to 350 tons. Introduced earlier this year, the YVAA chiller features the industry’s highest energy efficiency ratio at both full-load design and off-design conditions for efficient operation at all operating conditions, according to the company. YVAA energy performance can exceed older chillers as much as 50 percent, while performance on new projects can exceed up to 25 percent, officials said.
Though playgrounds can be a compelling and fun attraction for kids of all ages, the National Program for Playground Safety reports that more than 200,000 children are seriously injured on playgrounds each year.
